More precisely, my passions:
- I am a process man and entrepreneur, and couldn’t find a wallet that worked for my cash budget system. I designed my own wallet with my Mom’s sewing machine and developed the design into a product. Follow the link to my store if you think you might be interested.
- I am a guitarist who loves Prog-Rock, Frank Sinatra, and Rachmaninov. I desperately want to write lyrics and sing, but am not very good at doing either.
- Language learning, specifically Japanese, is a part of my everyday life. I spent a year in Japan learning to speak, write, and think in Japanese and developed an effective method for language learning. Possessing rather unconventional opinions about language acquisition, I think that classes are a waste of time and Rosetta Stone is worthless. Check out my comprehensive language learning post here.
- I am a believer in the biblical Jesus, and think that his radical way of life is the solution to death and unhappiness. Jesus is not about behavior modification like many think, but rather, he’s about life transformation. He’s not about taking us down a path from bad to good, but taking us from dead to alive. He’s the only God whom we can humble ourselves before without despair. When I recommitted my life to Jesus in 2004 I made an oath to become a servant for life, and I think that the only way to find true happiness is to give your life away to God and others.
